The Trans-Australia Airlines Boeing 727-276A VH-TBL 'John Eyre' was withdrawn from service at Melbourne (Tullamarine) and prepared for a 12-month lease to Iran Air.

Following an extensive 6-month overhaul and repaint the Australian Airlines Boeing 727-276A VH-TBM 'Albert Namatjira' returned to service.

On This Day - July 17, 1994.

The Qantas Airways Boeing 747-338 VH-EBT was rolled out at Sydney (Kingsford Smith) after being repainted into the airline's livery, following its return from lease to JAL and Garuda Indonesian Airlines. The aircraft was now named 'City of Wagga Wagga'.
