The Qantas Airways Boeing 707-138 VH-EBB 'City of Sydney' operated the airline's inaugural Sydney (Kingsford Smith) to London (Heathrow) passenger service via San Francisco and New York.

On This Day - September 09, 1960.

The Lockheed 188C Electra VH-ECD 'Charles Sturt' operated its final service with Trans-Australia Airlines, operating Flight TN402 from Melbourne (Essendon) to Sydney (Kingsford Smith). It was then returned to Qantas Airways at the end of this lease.
