The Qantas Airways Lockheed 1049C Constellation VH-EAG 'Southern Constellation' operated the airline's inaugural 'Lockheed 1049' service from Sydney (Kingsford Smith) to Christchurch (New Zealand).

On This Day - November 19, 2002.

The ex Ansett Airlines Boeing 727-277LR VH-ANB, having been converted to an 'all-freight' configuration and operated by DHL as OO-DLB, arrived at Melbourne (Tullamarine) having completed its ferry flight from Lasham (United Kingdom) as Flight XME7023. It had been leased to TransAustralian Air Express. After its arrival it was repainted into the Australian air Express livery and reregistered as VH-VLH before it entered service.

The Qantas Airways Boeing 737-476 VH-TJF departed Melbourne (Tullamarine) on its ferry flight to the United States (Victorville) as Flight QF6019, for long-term storage. This aircraft was eventually be converted to an 'all-freight' configuration in 2015.

The Qantas Airways Boeing 737-838 VH-XZP 'James Strong' arrived at Sydney (Kingsford Smith) having completed its delivery flight from the United States (Seattle / Boeing Field) as Flight QF6024. It was delivered in the airline's retro 'ochre' livery. It was the airline's 205th Boeing airliner and its 78th Boeing 737.
