On This Day - March 21, 1931.

The Australian National Airways Avro 10 VH-UMF 'Southern Cloud' vanished without a trace whilst operating the scheduled passenger service between Sydney (Mascot) and Melbourne (Laverton). The eight people on board were killed. It was Australia's first major civil airline disaster. The crash site was not discovered until October 26, 1958.

The Qantas Airways Boeing 767-238ER VH-EAO 'City of Cairns' arrived at Sydney (Kingsford Smith) having completed its delivery flight from the United States (Seattle) as Flight QF7676. It was the airline's 67th Boeing airliner and its 6th Boeing 767.

The QantasLink Boeing 717-231 VH-NXK was ferried Adelaide (West Beach) - Perth as Flight QF6201, on delivery to National Jet Systems. National Jet Systems had been awarded a contract to operate services for QantasLink.

The Virgin Australia Boeing 737-8FE VH-YFI 'Porpoise Bay' arrived at Brisbane, having completed its delivery flight from the United States (Seattle / Boeing Field) as Flight DL9080.

The Qantas Airways Airbus A330-202 VH-EBR 'Lockyer Valley' entered service, operating Flight QF609 from Brisbane to Melbourne (Tullamarine). It had previously been operated by Jetstar Airways since October 2011.
