The Qantas Airways Boeing 707-138B VH-EBC 'City of Canberra' arrived at Sydney (Kingsford Smith) having completed its final revenue service, operating London (Heathrow) - Sydney (Kingsford Smith) via the Kangaroo Route. It was then withdrawn from service having flown 23,213 hours with 10,842 cycles and prepared for sale to Standard Airways.

On This Day - January 29, 1980.

The Ansett Airlines Boeing 727-77QC VH-RMS operated its final passenger service as Flight AN213 from Adelaide (West Beach) to Melbourne (Tullamarine). This was the airline's final Boeing 727-77 passenger service. It was then withdrawn from useand prepared for sale to Air Nauru.

On This Day - January 29, 1984.

The Ansett Airlines of Australia Lockheed 188AF Electra VH-RMB operated its final freighter service, operating Flight AN1444 from Launceston (Tasmania) to Melbourne (Tullamarine). It was then withdrawn from service and stored at Melbourne (Tullamarine) having flown 53,886 hours with 40,654 cycles. It was sold to Turbo Power International Inc on June 29.
