On This Day - January 27, 1947. Following its sale on December 06, 1946, the Royal Australian Air Force Douglas C-47A-20-DK 'A65-49' was delivered to Qantas Empire Airways Ltd and reregistered as VH-EAL on March 27. It was then ferried north to Papua New Quinea where it entered service. |
