The Butler Air Transport Douglas DC-3 VH-AOG 'R.M.A. Warrego' was destroyed by fire when it made a forced-landing in a paddock, shortly after taking-off from Bourke, New South Wales, following engine problems. The 10 passengers and 3 crew members were uninjured.

The Jetstar Airways Airbus A330-202 VH-EBJ was ferried Manila (Philippines) to Sydney (Kingsford Smith) as Flight JQ7990, following its repaint by Lufthansa Technik. It had been officially leased from Qantas Airways on December 07.
