The Australian National Airways Douglas C-47-DL '42-32879', acquired by the airline from the United States Navy in December 1945, was registered as VH-ANJ following its conversion to 'civilian airliner standards' at Brisbane. It was named Kadana (star) before it entered service shortly thereafter.

The Impulse Airlines Boeing 717-23S VH-AFR operated its last revenue service as Flight VQ7311 from Hobart to Melbourne (Tullamarine). Impulse Airlines ceased all scheduled domestic services on this day but entered into an agreement to operate services for Qantas Airways via the new company QantasLink.
