Qantas Airways leased the Lockheed 1049G-82 Constellation N9722C from Lockheed Aircraft Corporation, to cover a capacity shortfall. This aircraft was the ex Qantas Constellation VH-EAO.

The Masling Commuter Air Services Douglas C-47A-30-DL VH-MWQ, having flown 64,134 hours to date, was sold to Setair Pty Ltd. The aircraft was named 'Gooney Bird'.

On This Day - August 18, 1990.

The Qantas Airways Boeing 747-438 VH-OJG arrived at Sydney (Kingsford Smith) having completed its delivery and first revenue service flight from the United States via Canada (Vancouver) as Flight QF7447. It was the airline's 84th Boeing airliner and its 37th Boeing 747.

On This Day - August 18, 1994.

The Qantas Airways Boeing 737-376 VH-TAX 'Success' had the distinction of operating the airline's final Boeing 737 service in the 'Australian' livery, when it operated Flight QF637 from Brisbane to Melbourne (Tullamarine). It was then repainted at Melbourne.

On This Day - August 18, 2001.

The Impulse Airlines Boeing 717-2K9 VH-IMD was ferried Brisbane to Sydney (RAAF Richmond) for repainting into the QantasLink livery. It was the last Impulse Boeing 717 to acquire this livery.

On This Day - August 18, 2014.

The Airwork NZ Boeing 737-476 ZK-JTQ arrived at Auckland having completed its ferry flight from the United States (Jacksonville) where it had been converted to an 'all-freight' configuration. The aircraft was then prepared to enter service for 'Toll Aviation'
