The Qantas Airways Boeing 747-338 VH-EBV was renamed 'Spirit of ANZAC' to operate a special charter flight for the Australian Department of Defence, to fly a group of World War One veterans to Turkey for the 80th Gallipoli Anniversary.

On This Day - April 20, 1997.

The Ansett Airlines Boeing 727-277LR VH-ANA was the second last Boeing 727 to be retired by the airline. It operated its last commercial service, operating Flight AN110 from Adelaide (West Beach) to Melbourne (Tullamarine). The aircraft had special titles and logos painted on it to commemorate the occasion
