The Qantas Airways Boeing 747SP-38 VH-EAA 'City of Gold Coast Tweed' operated the airline's first Boeing 747SP non-stop service from Australia to the United States, as Flight QF11, flying from Sydney (Kingsford Smith) to California (Los Angeles).

On This Day - April 07, 1988.

The Air Queensland Douglas C-47B-30-DK VH-BPN was sold at auction to Air Rambler (Australia) Pty Ltd. The aircraft was repainted with a modified 'Air Queensland' livery and with 'DC-3 Queensland' titles. It was back in the air after June 03 when DC-3 Queensland was issued with its Air Operators Certificate.

The Ansett Australia Boeing 767-277 VH-RMH had the distinction of operating the world's last Boeing 767 crewed by a designated 'Flight Engineer' in the '3-man' cockpit when it operated Flight AN75 from Brisbane to Melbourne (Tullamarine).
